Jade Archer's Ring, Hetian Nephrite, Hair of the Ox, Qing
This is a rare and very beautiful piece of antique nephrite jade carved into an archer's ring or thumb ring. This piece was verbally authenticated at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum in 1974 and was said to be from the Ming or early Qing Dynasty. This type of veined nephrite jade is sometimes called "hair of the ox" and is quite rare. It has a wonderful fatty luster and silky feel. The color is a lardy white with russet veins. It is a US ring size 12.5 but can also be worn as a pendant suitable for men or women. Neck cord included on request.
