Antique Hetian Nephrite jade pendant necklace from the Qing Dynasty, 1800s. Color is a medium celadon green. Very well carved on both sides. Measures approximately 2 inches in diameter and weighs 79.4 grams. The carving depicts a dragon. In Chinese mythology dragons are often seen as symbols of power, strength, and good fortune. Dragons are also associated with water, rainfall, and fertility, making them revered figures in agricultural communities. In Imperial China, dragons were closely tied to the emperor and the concept of divine rule.  This pendant comes with  a simple black adjustable length neck cord. A beautiful pendant of historical significance for men or women.
