Carved Jade River Pebble, Hetian Nephrite, Qing
A beautifully carved antique Hetian nephrite river pebble from the Qing Dynasty. River pebbles are highly coveted by antique jade collectors and this one is very special as it has very fine carving on one side and the natural river pebble on the other. These pebbles were sometimes used as fondling or pocket pieces to reduce stress, or simply admired for the combination of artisan skill and natural beauty.
This pebble is approximately 2.5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and weighs 80.5 grams. It has a wonderful fatty luster and silky feel which invites soothing, relaxing fondling. A rare treasure for the jade connoisseur.
