Jade Bat Coin Necklace, Hetian Nephrite, Qing Dynasty
Fine quality antique Hetian nephrite pendant necklace depicting a bat and coin. Wonderful fatty luster and silky feel. This pendant is highly symbolic of the Chinese culture. On the front is a bat residing on a coin which symbolizes wealth and prospesrity. On the back of the pendant are carved a constellation and a sword, both holding symbolic meaning. The color is a pale celdon green. The pendant measures approximately 2 inches in diameter and hangs from a custom made adjustable length neck cord which complements the color of the jade. This beautiful piece dates from the mid-Qing Dynasty.
