Jade Snake Pendant Necklace, Hetian Nephrite, Qing
Antique Hetian nephrite jade coiled snake pendant necklace. The snake has carved scales on the front and a plain back. Color is a pale celadon green. The pendant hangs from a black custom made adjustable length neck cord. The snake is one of the Chinese zodiac animals. This pendant measures approximately 2 inches in diameter and weighs 41.1 grams. It dates from the Qing period, circa 1800s.
