Rare Coral Necklace, Chinese Art Deco

Extremely rare and exquisite antique Art Deco Chinese Export necklace. These intricate 18mm beads are each handmade from tiny coral beads woven to form the larger size. Dates from about 1900-1920. Each bead is separated by enamel lotus flower bead caps. Newly restrung with a vermeil slide-lock clasp which is newer than the beads. There are 27 individual beads comprising this 20 inch long necklace. There are copies of this type of bead made from glass but these are tested to be coral. Beautiful combination of the salmon color beads with the variegated blue enamel bead caps. The craftsmanship is superb and the condition is excellent. We have been dealing in jade and Chinese jewelry for over forty years and I have never seen such an excellent example of this type of jewelry. A truly rare find for the connoisseur and collector of Chinese export jewelry.
